Summer cooking!

Assisted a cooking class yesterday at the yoga studio.
Beautiful and delicious!

Moong

Cycle and full moon tonite.
Some moong leading up to these days.
Moong(soaked in water overnight) with basmati and quinoa, accompanied with summer veggies such as
Japanese cucumber, togan
Gourd, goya
Both rich in potassium and has cooling, diuretic effects like the watermelon. (Had watermelon juice this morning! )
Other summery dishes like ratatouille and daikon salads!
Can't resist:)

Hot humid days...

The thing about Japan is that its not just about heat. Which means pitta is not the only dosha aggravated.
With the humidity (80% today) theres fire elements + water.
This is the dullness and heaviness you feel in the body along with the heat.
Yes, with PMS too, I definitely feel sluggish too!
But daily routines CAN help.

# try waking up at the same time everyday
# detox! this is just regular perspiration & excretion! (Sweat and morning stools)
# eat cooling & lite foods (just listen to your body, im sure your body is wanting a soothing bowl of rice noodles, or juicy watermelons!)
# moderate exercise and work:)

Ahhhhh have FUN.
-Yoga in the morning
-Japanese vegetables
-Basmati rice & Quinoa with saffron

Collaging.

Inspirations.
Finding.
Discovery.

グルテンフリー Going Gluten-free!

Eat whole foods.
Perfect with the traditional Japanese diet. Lots of rice & veggies & beans or 100% pure soba noodles.
Love incorporating new ideas into my diet, makes me positive, healthy and excited!
Be eclectic, explore and have fun!
Last night... devoured Chinese medicine influenced curry with Indian basmati rice and Japanese style pickles, edamame, soy bean cutlets with dried cut daikon, sided with carrot&spinach sprinkled with Italian olive oil and pesto.
Always, think...balance:)
(pilates&yoga: yogalates on my mind...)
