New Years Resolution, Ayurvedic-style!

Wishing everyone a happy new year, and welcome, 2013!

On the first day, I spent time with Family and ate traditional Japanese Osechi.

Osechi is a range of dishes eaten on this special day. Each one of the small dishes have a meaning: for example, konbu (seaweed) is associated with "joy", and kamaboko (red & white fish cakes) represents the rising sun.

(On the 31st, we eat soba "year-crossing noodles" --for "a long healthy life".)

After a refreshing walk in the park, I relaxed with homemade chai and lit a candle, followed by some restorative yoga.
"After 3pm Chai" Recipe:

1. In a pot, add rooibos tea, cardamon pods with hot water.
2. After a few minutes, add cow's milk and maple syrup.
3. Let it boil up and turn off the heat.
4. Put cardamon, ginger, cinnamon powder in your favorite mug cup, add the tea and stir.

This year, I look forward to looking over my body by following a healthy daily routine.
Keep my body healthy, and all will follow.

On the second, after yoga and a shower, I took a walk with my family to the neighborhood shrine (will report on my oracle in a later update! looks like all will go well this year:)), and made myself a delicious breakfast.
